Kara Walston is owner and stylist at Hush Hush Bang Bang salon in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Hush Hush Bang Bang opened on Aug. 12, 2008. Salon owners, Kara Walson and her husband Wade, designed the salon and also completed the construction themselves. In planning the salon space, they researched and employed as many recycled products as possible and kept an eye and mind toward sustainability throughout the project.

The majority of Kara's stylists have worked together for close to 10 years, making every one at Hush Hush Bang Bang truly one big family. Clients who visit the salon are always commenting, "It's like being in one big living room spending time with friends when I come to your salon."

We have lots of fun here at Hush Hush Bang Bang! We take many educational "field trips" together to further our in-depth knowledge of the hair and fashion industry. Salon stylists are highly educated and continually take classes to stay up-to-date on changes in the industry, as well as new trends in society.

Salon construction Reclaimed and recycled materials are used in construction and interior décor wherever possible
Eco-friendly products In addition to popular brands, we offer organic, eco-friendly, and vegan products
Water saving initiatives Our stylists are trained to conserve their water usage when using the wash stations
Recycling program Our staff and clients are encouraged to return their empty beauty product containers to our recycling bin
